I am incredibly lucky to be an orthodontist. Few people have a job that they truly love, and I am fortunate to be one of those people. My job is literally to make people smile!
It is a joy to get to know each person and to share in their lives during a transformational time. I love hearing their stories, sharing in their adventures, learning of their dreams, and trading jokes and laughter. It is amazing to watch kids grow and become young adults and it’s rewarding to give an adult — even a grandparent — a smile they have wanted for years.
I feel so much love for and from my patients; it feels like I have this large, amazing extended family of smart and interesting people who make me smile and enrich my life. In turn, I am blessed to be able to give each of my patients a smile they can be proud of and help them feel more confident in their own skin.
I truly love being an orthodontist!
~ Dr. Christina Pepper
Background and Education
As a child, Dr. Pepper had a condition which left brown spots on her teeth and left her feeling very self-conscious. Fortunately, her uncle is a dentist and, in middle school, he gave her composite veneers for her front teeth, which covered the spots and gave her the confidence to smile! This experience led Dr. Pepper to orthodontics as a career: She wanted to make other people as happy and confident with their smiles as she was with hers!
Prior to practicing orthodontics, Dr. Pepper completed the following:
- Bachelor of Arts in biology, magna cum laude – Transylvania University
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine; graduated #2 in her class – University of Kentucky College of Dentistry
- Certificate in orthodontics and Master of Science in oral biology – University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry
Constant Learning and Professional Affiliations
My patients give me energy. When I sit down at the chair, I get excited to see the progress that has been made since the last appointment that gets us closer to our goals! I love to learn and read, and am always trying to find ways to be better at my craft and to improve our office.
Dr. Pepper is a dedicated lifelong learner and stays at the leading edge of technological and treatment innovations in order to provide her patients with the best care possible.
In addition to being board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Pepper is a member of the:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- Southern Association of Orthodontists
- Florida Association of Orthodontists
- American Dental Association
- Florida Dental Association
Through these professional organizations, she is able to participate in meetings, seminars, and lectures, to learn from leading practitioners, specialists, and researchers.
Beyond the Practice
Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Pepper met her husband Seth, who is a general dentist, while they were in dental school at the University of Kentucky. They married in 2015 and moved to Florida to be close to Seth’s hometown of Arcadia.
Now residing in Punta Gorda, the couple has welcomed two beautiful children to their family: Kenzie and Rett. They also have two fur baby Basset Hounds named Loki and Daisy.
When she’s not crafting beautiful, one-of-a-kind smiles, Dr. Pepper likes to read, hike, and travel. She also loves working out and enjoys taking Peloton cycling and barre classes. Being with her kids, though, takes priority over all else. They like going to the beach, the zoo, and the park, and loving taking walks with Loki and Daisy!
